Barry D. Nussbaum was the Chief Statistician for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from 2007 until his retirement in March 2016.   He started his EPA career in 1975 in mobile sources and was the branch chief for the team that phased lead out of gasoline.  Dr. Nussbaum is the founder of the EPA Statistics Users Group.  In recognition of his notable accomplishments, he was awarded the Environmental Protection Agency’s Distinguished Career Service Award.

Dr. Nussbaum has a bachelor’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  With Professor Nozer Singpurwalla as his advisor, he earned both a master’s and a doctorate from the George Washington University.     In May 2015, he was elected the 112^th president of the American Statistical Association.   He has been a fellow of the ASA since 2007 and is an elected member of the International Statistical Institute. He has taught graduate statistics courses for George Washington University and Virginia Tech. In 2019, he was appointed Adjunct Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Maryland Baltimore County.  In addition, he has even survived two terms as the treasurer of the Ravensworth Elementary School Parent Teacher Association. 

Jim Berger is the Arts and Sciences Professor Emeritus of Statistics at Duke University. His current research interests include Bayesian model uncertainty and uncertainty quantification for complex computer models. Berger was president of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics from 1995-1996 and of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis during 2004. He was the founding director of the Statistical and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute, serving from 2002-2010. He was co-editor of the Annals of Statistics from 1998-2000 and was a founding editor of the Journal on Uncertainty Quantification from 2012-2015. Berger received the COPSS `President's Award’ in 1985, was the Fisher Lecturer in 2001, the Wald Lecturer of the IMS in 2007, and received the Wilks Award from the ASA in 2015. He was elected as a foreign member of the Spanish Real Academia de Ciencias in 2002, elected to the USA National Academy of Sciences in 2003, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Purdue University in 2004, and became an Honorary Professor at East China Normal University in 2011.

Jayaram Sethuraman is an Emeritus Professor from the Department of Statistics at Florida State University. His research interests broadly span from probability and stochastic processes, to mathematical statistics and inference, reliability, nonparametric Bayesian analysis, and pattern analysis. He is the coauthor of over 100 statistics publications and the recipient of numerous grants and awards. His service to the discipline over the years includes Associate Editor for the Annals of Mathematical Statistics, Annals of Probability, and Annals of Statistics, editorial board member of several other prestigious scientific journals, and chairperson of various meeting program committees. He is a well-respected figure in the field with accolades and recognitions, including an Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute, and a Fellow of both the American Statistical Association and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics.
