Undergraduate

Undergraduate students in the Department of Statistics learn how to collect, analyze, interpret, explain and present data, as well as how to develop the tools to predict and forecast based on that information. The importance of data in our world is only growing, and a degree in statistics — a STEM-designated discipline — gives students an advantage in a variety of professional fields

The minor and major offer students flexible programs that can be tailored to their particular interests and objectives. Our undergraduates come from a wide range of disciplines across the university, and we encourage students from all fields to consider statistics. Our alumni are applying their skills to roles in government and policy making, pharmaceutical development, market research, finance, manufacturing and more.
